Thank you all for following and supporting my blog, it means a lot to me! I've gotten to know a lot of fabulous and interesting bloggers in the past 5 months and I'm looking forward to getting to know you gals even more this year!

The lovely gal over at Oomph gave me a Stylish Blogger Award and I happily accept! Thank you so much for picking me! I love all the looks that she puts together and I feel that we have similar taste in clothing. She's FABULOUS, so go check her out:
Rules to accept the award are:
1. thank the person who gave you the award
2. share seven facts about yourself
3. give the appreciation and award to seven bloggers, and let them know of their given award

7 Facts about me:
1. I started this blog because I missed working in fashion (I interned at Rebecca Taylor during my senior yr of college) and felt that this would be a great outlet for me to sound off on my opinions of the latest fashion trends, etc. I decided to dedicate it to Asian fashion and celebrities because I felt that we weren't getting a lot of love in the media. It's not very often that I flip open an American fashion magazine and see an Asian model or go to a website where they give a full fashion rundown on an Asian Award show. All in all, I have mad Asian pride! haha
2. I rarely buy clothes that aren't on sale. I loves me a bargain ;)
3. I like to make my own jewelry, mostly earrings and bracelets.
4. I have been addicted to vampire novels long before Twilight (I liked the books more than the movies, even though Meyer isn't that great of a writer :P). Recently finished the last book in the Vampire Academy series, so good!!!
5. Breakfast at Tiffany's is my all time favorite movie.
6. The only instrument I can play is the clarinet.
7. I speak fluent Cantonese and Mandarin, passable Spanish (although I sound like a native speaker cause my mom can speak it fluently and she always corrects me till I get it right !_!) and I am currently teaching myself Japanese and Korean via iPod apps and idol dramas xD

I'd like to pass this award to 7 other Fashionable Asian bloggers whom I've been following and admiring this past year:
1. Michelle at MichelleEsque
2. Annie at WhatAnnieWears
3. Jenny at JennyFromTheBlock
4. Eli at BoboLeeStyle
5. Aileen at AileenClarisse
6. Jen & Sherry at Jennifer & Sherry
7. Jen at HerWaiseChoice

I hope everyone has a Happy, Healthy and Stylish New Year!
And I really hope it doesn't snow anymore in NY!

I leave you with this picture of me standing in knee-high (I'm only 5 ft tall) snow trying to shovel my car out, the aftermath of the after X-mas blizzard @_@

Award Show Fashion: 2010 Metro Radio Hit Music Awards

Yesterday was the 2010 Metro Radio Hit Music Awards in Hong Kong and all the major singers made an appearance to accept the Empire State Building looking award.

Girl group Twins' Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung are my picks for best dressed. Both picked short chic dresses and matched their shoes with their outfits. I love that Gillian is wearing the Lanvin x H&M ceramic necklace, looks perfect with her strapless dress!

Joey Yung looked a lot better in her press room outfit than her award show outfit (scroll down for worst dressed)

Vincy Chan opted for a grecian style jumper and accessorized with gold bangles

Stephanie Cheng performed in this cute ruffle one piece

Pale people are just meant to wear bright red, love how it stands out against her skin

Stephy Tang performing in a lace top and yoga pants

Girl group Hotcha in coordinating black outfits, loving Crystal's (far right) metallic dress!

Sherman Chung in a long red gown, would've looked better unbelted since there's already some detail on the waist, looks like there's too much .

JW in an unimpressive all black ensemble

Janice chose menswear over a dress

Miriam Yeung (left) has never had a very good eye for fashion, she'll always be seen in odd dresses or in this case blazer. Joey Yung (right) on the other hand decided to go as a feather duster.

I don't know what Kay Tse was thinking when she decided to go in this tulle mess, wasn't winning 3 awards enough to gain some attention?!

G.E.M performing "Good to be Bad," when she should be singing "it's not good to look bad!" @_@

Award Show Fashion: 2010 Melon Music Awards

Last week was the 2010 Melon Music Awards (Korea's version of the Grammys) and as expected 2NE1 were the big winners at the awards and on the red carpet.
2NE1 always knows how to rock the red carpet but Bom (far right) looked kinda hookerish in her mini leather dress and fur shawl !_!Although Dara was the most muted of the quartet, I loved her look the most, such a cool looking knit vest! ^.^
Yoon Ji Min looked great in this sparkly mini

Kim Jung Hwa in an outfit that lacked, well... everything

Singer Gummy kept it casual in all black suit

SNSD/Girl's Generation ladies all wore matching booties and coordinating black outfits, with a couple of members wearing white and neon green
I liked the slits on her leggings, damn these Korean girls and their sticks for legs!
Not a fan of the Neon Green color but I like how cool this puffy skirt looks
Her attempts to try to liven up this outfit with color is kinda sad because these two purple hues are not complimentary colors!

I would totally rock this dress for a holiday party

This dress does nothing for her figure and with her skintone, she should've picked out a brighter color
It looks like she's got a fox on her shoulders and a snake on her feet, overall not a very exciting outfit
What can I say? Koreans aren't very into wearing color... :P

Raid My Closet: Holiday Party Outfits

Happy Holidays Everyone! I can't wait till Friday, I finally get a 3 day weekend to just lounge around the house, doing nothing but watch dvds while eating pocky sticks and drinking hot chocolate! ;P This past weekend, I went through my closet to find some looks that would be great for different types of holiday parties. That's when I realized, I have way too many bow headbands and black dresses haha...

For a friend's holiday house party:

Ceci Tokyo dress, gifted pearl purse, H&M bow headband and earrings, Strawberry tights

For a holiday party at work:
Elie Tahari dress, H&M black glitter cardigan, Unlisted shoes, gifted clutch, rose brooch from St. Marks, H&M earrings and gold bangle, handmade bow headband
For a more casual holiday party:
Uniqlo velour turtleneck, Donna Karan NY skirt, Nine West Shoes, Ann Taylor purse, H&M bow headband and earrings
For a formal holiday party:
Ymayaba Paris dress, Mom's vintage faux fur coat, Lancome clutch, H&M black bow headband
I know... I have a lot of black dresses! I don't know why I have trouble buying colorful dresses! maybe it's because my mother always says "everything goes with black." There's also something about a bow headband that pulls a look together and give it that Holiday feel ;P
Have a happy holiday and happy partying! ^^

Raid My [Mom's] Closet Saturday

Happy Saturday Everyone! Last weekend, I found an old suitcase in my mom's closet that contained all her old (vintage) clothes from the 80's and 90's. Lucky for me her old size is my current size and her 'old' clothes became my 'new' clothes. Here are a couple of looks I put together with the vintage clothes from Hong Kong and my own stuff ;)

Mom's vintage cardigan and high-waisted skirt, floral top from Mandee's

Mom's vintage high-waisted trousers, Ann Taylor Loft cardigan, Kenneth Cole ruffle top, H&M belt

Armitron charm bracelet watch
Mom's vintage striped skirt and silk blouse, H&M earrings

I need to cut my "Beiber bangs"! xD It's interesting to see what my mom used to be into fashionwise, a classic minimalist which is similar to the style that I prefer, nothing too flashy or crazy. The trousers she used to buy are a lot like Harem pants (See my post on that trend here), wide on the top, slim on the bottom. I think my favorite finds were the skirts. It's hard to share clothes with my mom nowadays since she's a 6 and I'm a 2, so it was exciting to find her old clothes. Hope this post inspires some of you to do some digging, you never know what you might find :)

Award Show Fashion: TVB Anniversary Awards 2010

It's a pic heavy post today as I dish out the best and worst dressed at the 43rd Hong Kong TVB Anniversary Awards! There is a whole lotta black!

Best actress Sheren Tang and Best Actor Wayne Lai won for the series No Regrets (click here for my Drama Fashion post on this show)
Sheren oozed old Hollywood glamour in this all black gown and curled hair.
Fan favorite Charmaine Sheh looked ravishing in this black lace gown
Selina Li and Elaine Yiu both shined in gorgeous purple hues and plenty of bling
Samantha Ko stole the spotlight in this bright red Chinese style embroidered gown, while Michael Tse opted for a cute nerdy look
Nancy Wu paired her feminine black embellished and lace dress with strappy platform shoes and Joel Chan added some color with his bright pink loafers
Fala Chen stayed neutral with this gray one shoulder frock
Ron Ng and Tavia Yeung didn't lack any flair in this bright body hugging gown
Aimee Chan always plays it safe in yet another all black dress and leather gloves (which would've been even more fab if she had long ones like Sheren)
DoDo Cheng hosted the show in this pale pink number
Pierre Ngo and Kara Hui looking regal in this coral gown
Kate Tsui in a black gown featuring a large white ruffled rosette while Kenneth Ma looked absolutely charming in his suit
Lee Si Kay in what looks like a purple nightgown and Susanna Kwan stealing her spotlight in a perfectly fitted cream and black dress
Steven Ma and Linda Chung in a flamenco style fuschia dress with cascading ruffles, I like the color but I don't like the flowers on the shoulder
Best supporting actor Mac Bao and Mei Yi Kong in an assymetrical accordian dress that could've been played up even more with sparklier jewelry
Natalie Tong, Kenny Wong and Kristal Tin all kept things nice and simple
Former Ms. HK Skye Chan opted for a pastel green dress with a plunging v-neck
Alvina looked like she was working the streets instead of the red carpet in a mini skirt and fur vest and her messy bouffant. Yikes!
Queenie Chu, Derek Kwok and Mimi Lo just knew they had to stand together and accept worst dressed, do I really have to explain why?
Michelle Yim who normally oozes elegance, failed to impress this year in this grey ensemble that can't seem to decide if it wants more embellishments or ruffles.
Toby Leung should not be this happy being the worst dressed of the night :T The avant garde military dress should be nowhere near a glamourous red carpet!
Let's hear it, leave your red carpet fashion comments below! ;)
