Fashionable Asians at the Shanghai Film Festival

I couldn't let June go by without at least one post! Been so busy lately and wishing I could just be a blogger full time :/   Anyways, I was really impressed by the Shanghai Film Festival red carpet and really wanted to share with those who don't follow Asian entertainment news. Let me know in the comments who you think deserves best dressed!

Looks like Yang Mi is ready to walk down the aisle with her boyfriend Harwick Lau rather than the red carpet in this Shiatzy Chen white lace creation with a Peter Pan collar.
Cecilia Cheung opted for a rather unshaply white one shouldered dress
I've seen Josie Ho in stranger outfits, so I was pleasantly surprised to see her in this simple strapless dress paired with red shoes and studded heart shaped clutch.
Lan Qin accessorized her Lanvin dress with an eagle adorned belt and simple black clutch
Song Jia sparkled her way down the red carpet in this pale pink and silver dress
Lin Chiling showed off her model perfect legs in this embellished yellow number
the girls from Twins also made an appearance, Gillian Chung accessorized her plain blue dress with a choker necklace and bow adorned platform heels while Charlene Choi stayed youthful in a white Versace dress
Kitty Zhang wasn't afraid to bare some leg in this knotted Lanvin dress
Vicki Zhao directs the attention away from the fact that she hasn't lost all the baby weight yet in this voluminous red Dolce and Gabbana dress
Korean star Han Chae Young's ruched fuschia gown
Joey Yung rocked her red Botega Veneta gown, just wished she didn't get that bowl haircut to go with it
Huo Si Yan's deep-v green velvet Gucci dress was one of my favorite dresses of the festival, eyecatching and different from the usual and perfect with gold accessories
Yao Xing Tong looked like she was in the running for prom queen in this tiffany blue tiered ruffle gown
Li Bing Bing kept it classy in all black Gucci

Fashion at the 2012 Beijing International Film Festival

I love that Chinese celebrities aren't afraid to take risks and opt for dresses of all colors, textures and brands. Here are some notable looks from this years' Beijing International Film Festival. And as always this Fashionable Asian tops my list of faves...

Fan Bing Bing wowed in Tadashi Shoji [Asian Designer Alert!] as she matched her bright red lip to her dress and continued her Asian themed outfit with a Judith Lieber Pagoda purse and jade earrings - She could totally pass for a vampire queen with this look.

Angelababy wore the exact same Barney Cheng dress Linda Chung wore to the TVB awards back in November. Still a beautiful dress but Baby looks like she's really forcing her cleavage by wearing a smaller bra size, it just makes her shoulders look even bonier. No Thinspo!

Zhang Ziyi not in Dior but Alessandra Rich, a bit more casual than I'm used to seeing Ziyi on the red carpet but it works for her

Annie Shizuka walks the red carpet in a dress from LanYu's 2012 collection, a cream dress of chiffon and lace mix
Huang Yi's kept her accessories to a minimum to let her voluminous layered tulle dress make a grander statement
Huo Si Yan poses in a floral Dolce and Gabbana, I find the print to be borderline matronly but SiYan manages to pull it off quite nicely.
Monica Mok had her very own J.Lo v-neck moment in this cobalt blue oriental inspired dress.
Yao Chen wore this ruby red Vionnet dress and accessorized with a silver clutch and minimal jewelry.
Liu Yi Fei sparkled in this pink strapless embroidered dress paired with the perfect amount of jewelry.
There's always someone at every red carpet event who shows up almost nude (a.n.) and this times a.n. is Yvonne Yung in this sheer black beaded dress. Confidence, the only accessory she needs. Work it girl!
Zhang Jing Chu's bow is almost big enough to whack someone in the face, but it added interest to the dress, just wish she had left her neck bare so it wasn't competing with each other.
Zhang Xin Yi looked svelte in a halter color blocking Salvatore Ferragamo dress
The always youthful Zhou Dong Yu paired a sweet collared lace top with a Carven skirt.

Which dress caught your attention? Let me know below!

Award Show Fashion: 2011 JSG Ten Best Awards Presentation

Happy New Year everyone! First Post of the New Year! Thank you guys for following and supporting this blog and helping me spread the word about how fabulously chic us Asians can be ;) And on that note I share with you this post on some questionable fashion choices made by Hong Kong's top musicians. You'll see what I mean...

Twins' Charlene and Gillian: While Charlene's dress fits her style and shape (and I am lusting over her Jeffrey Campbell shoes, which are currently soldout everywhere! -_-) I'm not a huge fan of the matching colored tights. I am however loving the look and color of Gillian's wide legged coral colored jumper, makes her short stubby legs look supermodel long

Christine Ng is such a diva, at 42 she still acts and dresses like she's 24!
Ella Koon (who's been youtubing lately) opted for a black shoulder cutout dress

Ivana Wong has got wayyy too much volume going on in her and dress, just pick one thing to volumize and stick with it! PROPORTION, PROPORTION, PROPORTION!
Jade Kwan's knitted black dress was not my fave but at least it was interesting..
Joey Yung won top honors at the award show while wearing this intricate floral embellished dress
An emotional Joyce Cheng accepts her award in a simple black and white ensemble and topped it off with an embellished fishnet topper
Karene Mak [left] tulle bottom dress gave her thin frame some much need volume
Mag Lam's lily pad dress was kind of unimpressive, there's too much going on

There comes a time age when you just can't pull off leather mini skirts anymore. And for Sally Yeh that time arrived, now ages ago.
Hotcha, more like Trashcha, I used to think these girls were cool, what happened? I really hope they didn't pay someone to dress them like that

Are mini fishnet hats the latest trend in Asia?

I like to give major props to the HK celebs for being so daring with their fashion (well, more daring than Korean celebs anyways) There's always a bunch of different colors and textures, even if their coordination is a little off.  I feel such an urge to restyle them sometimes...

Award Show Fashion: 14th Annual HuaBiao Film Awards

I hope the 'wrath' of Hurricane Irene didn't ruin everyone's weekend on the east coast! Thankfully I had electricity throughout otherwise I would've been super bored and wouldn't have known that there was an award show in China for the best in film! I was surprised to see how much black lace dresses there were on this red carpet, Lace is a definite must have this season! Will you be wearing it?

Yuan Li in a revealing lace dress. I know what you're thinking, "What was she thinking?!" I see Paris, I see France, I see Yuan Li's underpants! Well at least she wasn't wearing granny panties like Taylor Swift, now that would've been embarrasing! Even though I am a bit more slender than Li, I don't have the self confidence to ever wear something like this without a slip!
Zhang Ziyi in a much more modest yet still sexy gown by Tom FordZhang Jing Chu also opted for a long sleeved lace dress by Christian Dior, though I wish she had paired it with a clutch rather than a mini purse, it made it look too casual.

Cheng Ting Jia is wearing what I consider to be the perfect amount of lace on any outfit, Loved this look!
Angelababy looked youthful and chic in a lace bow adorned Valentino dress paired with a fun feathery gray clutch
Chow Yun Fat's wife also couldn't resist the urge to have a bit of lace on the bell of her sleeves, but seriously whoever dresses this woman needs to be fired. I don't think I've ever liked anything she's worn, everything is frumpy and shapeless!
Zhou Dong Yu looked age appropriate in this short black and white leaf appliqued dress

Eva Huang isn't afraid of mixing prints in this long sleeved dress
Zhou Xun is almost always in Chanel at every red carpet and it suits her perfectly
HK girl group Twins' Gillian and Charlene both opted for black dresses but Charlene wins my vote for best dressed twin in her long sheer (with a slip) dress with a sweetheart neckline.
Tang Wei (L) in Roberto Cavalli and Kara Hui both went with patterned v-neck dresses
Gong Li looked graceful and tan (even when she fell on stage lols) in this strapless black Alex Wang evening gown
Xu Fan opted for a traditional qi pao
Sammi (not afraid to admit she has a chest flatter than an airport tarmac) Cheng, shows that she's still got it at the age of 39 by wearing this forest green assymetrical cutout dress. Va-va-va-voom!
Jiang Wen Li also couldn't resist picking out a black v-neck dress for the event in Beijing
Sandra Ng, the big winner of the night, failed to impress in a plain black scoop neck dress. Yawn.
Joey Yung (L) has never been afraid to experiment with fashion but I don't really get this outfit... is she supposed to be a lamp shade? and Yumiko Cheng (R) went for a simple metallic gunmetal jumper, but homegirl forgot to accessorize!
Annie Yi chose to attend in this Christian Dior lace appliqued pastel gown that failed to really dazzle
Yang Mi went with a neutral gown that was perfect for her shape
Yan Ni went in last season's favorite nude colored dress
Michelle Yeoh (far right) who knew she was still around?! looked gorgeous in this princess pink gown with floral beading [with John Woo and his wife]
Crystal Liu looked beautiful in this soft pink tiered ruffle gown
Material Queen's Lynn Xiong glowed in her ruffled salmon gown
(Drama Fashion: Material Queen coming soon!!)
Kitty Zhang, you can;t see in this photo but this red hot dress has a long slit up to there
Liu Xiao Qing is not impressing anyone in this gold tone dress with a cape, the necklace is also too big for this dress, a dainty one goes a long way

Which lace dress was your favorite? Leave a comment below!
